Planning Commission Meeting Update
January 13, 2010 Wednesday

CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
ROLL CALL:
Commissioners Michael Boswell, Michael Draze, Eric Meyer, Airlin
Singewald, Mary Whittlesey, Vice-Chairperson Michael Multari, and
Chairperson Charles Stevenson
All commissioners
were in attendance.
ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA:
The agenda was accepted as presented.
PUBLIC COMMENT: There
were no comments made by the public.
PRESENTATION:
1.
There will be a brief update on the Storm Water Pollution prevention
program by Doug Dowden.
Doug Dowden, Stormwater Enforcement staff, presented
current efforts to implement the Stormwater Management Plan approved
in June 2009. Both he and Tim Girvin, Chief Building Official,
responded to questions by Commissioners.
Bob Kile, member of the public, provided input regarding storm water
efforts.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
1. City-Wide.
GPI 49-06: Review the Draft Traffic Analysis Report and Proposed
Traffic Impact Mitigation Measures for the Draft South Broad Street
Corridor Plan; City of San Luis Obispo, applicant.
(Jeff Hook)
Jeff Hook, Senior Planner, summarized previous
direction and new information from the traffic analysis including
proposed traffic calming measures. Mr. Hook responded to several
questions from the Commission and clarified information. Tim Bochum,
Deputy Director of Public Works, also responded to questions.
Five members of the public provided testimony related to traffic
calming measures, location of proposed signals and medians, and
neighborhood traffic concerns.
The Commission discussed proposed traffic mitigation measures.
RECOMMENDATION:
To continue the item to a date certain:
February 10, 2010.
ACTION:
Moved by Multari/Meyer to continue the item to the February 10,
2010, Planning Commission meeting (7:0).

Forecast –
Staff provided a forecast of the January 27th meeting.
3. Commission
–
Commissioner Whittlesey indicated that she hoped future publications
would be printed with a double-sided format. Staff indicated that
City policy is to provide electronic copies where possible and
double-sided materials where products need to be provided in print.
ADJOURNMENT –
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.

documents provided to a majority of the Planning Commission
regarding any item on this agenda will be made available for public
inspection in the Community Development, 919 Palm Street, during
normal business hours.
