FUNdamentals Sports Clinics
FUNdamentals Pre-Season Sports Clinics are for youth interested in learning new or enhancing existing skills in a variety of sports. Clinics are based on four guiding principles: Confidence, Teamwork, Integrity and Leadership.

Youth Basketball
Presented by the Parks and Recreation Department and the SLO County YMCA. Leagues are as follows: 5 year olds - coed, 6 & 7 year olds - coed, 8 & 9 year old girls, 8 & 9 year old boys, 10-12 year old girls, and 10-12 year old boys. Games are played once per week.

First Tee Youth Golf
Youth, ages 7-17, are eligible to participate in the First Tee golf program, held at Laguna Lake Golf Course. For more information call (805) 781-7228 or (805) 781-7300.

Flag Football
NFL Flag, the NFL’s official non-contact league, emphasizes basic football skills such as passing, catching, defending and running. For more information on the game of Flag Football visit www.NFLflagfootball.com.

Futsal (Indoor Soccer)
Sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department and the SLO County YMCA, Futsal is played on a small court with five players on each team with a variation of outdoor soccer rules. This program for children in grades 1-12 is offered in April and May with games on Friday evenings; practices are held at local schools once a week.

Futsal Registration
Registration for the Futsal Indoor Soccer program includes a mandatory parent meeting to complete registration for the program by participating in a half hour presentation of the PAYS (Parent Association for Youth Sports) Program.

Junior Giants Baseball at Stockton Field (Sinsheimer Park)
Junior Giants is a FREE, non-competitive summer baseball program for girls and boys (ages 7-13 years) sponsored by the Giants Community Fund and the City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department.

Mandatory Parent Orientation
There is a MANDATORY Parent Orientation Meeting on Saturday, June 11, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Ludwick Community Center; hot dog lunch provided.

Volunteer Coaches Needed
Become a volunteer coach for the Junior Giants program! No need to have baseball experience, but a love of the game helps! Male and female coaches needed. Coaches are trained in San Francisco by professional athletes at AT&T Park and also attend a game with the league at the end of the season. Program requirements include commitment for Coaches Training Day on June 18 and program days throughout the summer for a minimum of three hours each day. The trip for the Giants game is scheduled for July 24, 2011. For inquiries, please call 781-7441. To be considered, submit the volunteer waiver form to Casey Fodness at 1341 Nipomo Street.

Teen Basketball

Teen Cross Country
Girls and boys at Laguna Middle School are invited to be a part of the Laguna Cross Country team. Team participates in meets with local schools.

Teen Track and Field
The Teen Track and Field program at Laguna Middle School is for all levels of experience. The team travels to various meets throughout the season and
competes against local junior high and middle schools.

Teen Volleyball
Girls and boys at Laguna Middle School have the opportunity to bump, set, spike and develop volleyball skills within a supportive environment.

Summer Programs

FUNdamentals Basketball Camp
Gain fundamentals in the great game of basketball! This summer camp teaches youth the basics of dribbling, passing and shooting in a fun and non-competitive atmosphere. Includes a camp T-shirt.

Youth Sports programs provide fundamental sports instruction in a non-competitive environment that focuses on participation.
